Maca Banana Date Nut Muffins

Image
My latest inspiration in baking was to see what I could make with bananas and dates. After browsing different recipes I decided to use the one I found at Joyous Apron as a base.  In the journey of living my best life, I have been focused on plant-based vegan gluten-free baking, so I made some tweaks and very happy with the results.  I use coconut oil in the muffins and I replaced the sugar with maple syrup. I love to use natural sweeteners like maple syrup and honey in my baking. The wonderful thing is it makes it easy to add plant-based powders into the baking. The moisture from the natural sweeteners is balanced by the plant powders to create a wonderful healthy edible.  Maca was the plant that I was inspired to use in this recipe. Maca is also known as Peruvian Ginseng and is indigenous to South America, specifically the Andes in Peru. The root can be ground into a powder and has been used to support the body in a number of ways including energy, balancing hormones, ...

Tapping for Abundance

Image
I was first introduced to Tapping and EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) through my dad. Over the past 20 years, my dad has sent me different articles, audio files, videos, and full programs to encourage me to incorporate tapping into my daily life. For a brief period of time, I was seeing a counselor who specialized in tapping as well. Despite all the exposure and opportunities to become involved with tapping, I never did much with it.  Over the last year, my focus has been to be more open to suggestions. This all led me to take the Tapping for Abundance Workshop at Desert Sage Herbs . My mom and I have been taking classes there over the years and this one caught her eye as something I should participate in. I was a little skeptical, but I knew both presenters and have enjoyed their courses in the past. Brittney Sounart , a registered herbalist and EFT practitioner, partnered with Candice Cook , who is an herbalist and shamanic healer. The class incorporated a b...

We are ALL Creators

Image
No one is ever a victim, although your conquerors would have you believe in your own victimhood. How else could they conquer you? In the biggest Book of Existence and in the Book of Earth, there are no victims, only those who forget they are creators and who choose fear, forget love, and separate themselves. It is the same story with different players, again and again. Actually, in the broader picture it is the same story with the same players again and again. Family of Light: Pleiadian Tales and Lessons in Living by Barbara Marciniak When we remember who we are, who we innately were born to become, the reason why we are here, we begin to see the power we have. Each one of us has the power to create their own world. Each and every day our choices create the world we live in. We may not always be conscious of our choices, but we always have a choice.  One of the choices I made a while ago was to stop playing the victim role. I could produce a long list of reasons, examples and atroc...

Chaos and Conflict: No. 33

Image
Daily Angel Oracle Card: Chaos and Conflict, from the Wisdom of the Oracle , by Colette Baron-Reid Chaos and Conflict: “Disarray; being at cross purposes with another; the tension of opposites; the value of chaos before order.” The Oracle’s Message: “Opposing forces come together to create a turbulent atmosphere. But consider the value of chaos that serves you well, as you become unmoored by it. Scattered to the winds, you leave behind the parts of yourself that you no longer need and disperse seeds to reinvent yourself anew. Although the conflict appears to exist externally its essence is also internal, projected  outward and causing disarray. You may find yourself at cross purposes with someone else, facing a storm you feel you can’t control. Yet every storm passes, and chaos leads to a reordering of things. Conflict provides a way to see more than one side of a situation. Look upon this as just a moment in time when you may need to take shelter and step away from the...

Crystal Gridding has me Grinning!

Image
Crystals have been a part of my life as long as I can remember. I remember at a young age going to  conventions with my parents and sitting through workshops on crystals. I remember learning an invocation at a young age to cleanse crystals and have used it ever since. I learned the "rules" in regards to handling crystals that have become a part of my mindful practice. Working with crystals in a variety of ways and wearing them is a daily habit. However, crystal grids is something new to me.  Growing up, I do not recall ever having been exposed or been aware of crystal grids. Over the past few years, as I have delved deeper into my work with crystals, I have seen beautiful grids shared through social media channels. At different events, I have seen grids you could buy but never really put much thought into it.  All of that changed after taking a class with Natalija Kyle , a local clinical herbalist, reiki master, certified yoga teacher and holistic healthcare...

The Ship's Sailed... New Beginnings, New Moon Magic

Image
My very first diamond art piece was of three ships. It was a large canvas but only part was diamond art. I bought the kit to complete with my two boys to give as a present to their dad for Father's Day. My life was a little tumultuous back then and found the diamond art to be therapeutic. I loved the repetitive motion with the colors to focus on. I have always been a believer in color therapy and this activity was very soothing for me. While I love making my own original art, I also enjoy following patterns at times to give my mind a mental break. When my life turned upside down and went through some major shifts, diamond art became my therapy. I still enjoy it to this day and have gone through phases of focusing on mandalas, then trees followed by moons. My son picked out my last piece and it was a ship. It brought back the memories of the first piece I completed and also how it was the first thing I noticed gone when my life changed unexpectedly. Completing this piece...
